United Nations Association - National Capital Area Forum

Date and time: July 24th at 5:00pm (doors open at 4:30pm; program starts at 5:00pm)

The United Nations Association of the National Capital Area (UNA-NCA) will be hosting a panel discussion between an Israeli and Palestinian NSL delegates. The panel will bring the diverse perspectives of Israeli and Palestinian youth who have first-hand experiences with the UN’s work. This program will focus on the United Nations’ role in peacebuilding in and around the Middle East as well as the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals within the region. The panel will feature two NSL delegates and will be moderated by Dr. Richard Ponzio, Director of Just Security 2020 and Senior Fellow of The Stimson Center and Paula Boland, Executive Director, United Nations Association of the National Capital Area.

Congressional Roundtable

A number of the fellows from New Story Leadership will speak truth to power in the halls of Congress. Their stories will be followed by a roundtable which will include members of New Story Leadership, the United States Institute of Peace, Combatants for Peace, IPCRI, AMEL and ALLMEP.

The event will also be cosponsored by Congressman Jamie Raskin and Chairwomen Nita Lowey.

St. John’s Interfaith Event

New Story Leadership fellows from the region will share personal stories of bravery and faith from the allies of Jerusalem to the congregation halls of Bethlehem. This event will connect the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faith.

NSL’s Annual Congressional Forum

Young leaders from Israel and Palestine shift the narrative and pave the way for change by sharing their on the ground realities with members of Congress. The delegates from Team X will speak truth to power and present on their past, present, and future in the region.

Bradley Hills Interfaith Event

Come and hear the voices of young Palestinian and Israeli leaders as they share stories of bravery and hope to the Bradley Hills interfaith congregation.

2019 Activist Salon

Enjoy an evening of presentations, discussions, song, award ceremony, food and drink with other activists. Learn about the programs of New Story Leadership for the Middle East (NSL), Global Woman, and other organizations.

Three of our NSL Delegates will share their stories focusing on their Projects for Change - social impact projects that are designed to respond to particular needs in Israel and Palestine that have risen from dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

“The Dove”

Join us for an evening of personal stories that inspire hope for Israeli-Palestinian peace, based on the popular storytelling show “The Moth”. This is the fourth event in the "The Dove" series and will feature all the 2019 NSL delegates.

The event will be hosted by Noa Baum and co-sponsored by Americans for Peace Now.
