Born and raised in Israel to Jewish-Australian parents, Yonatan became interested in youth empowerment and co-existence from an early age. A Seeds of Peace staff member, as well as a mentor of adolescents with special needs, Yonatan also served as a motivational speaker for the Israeli army. In 2015 Yonatan established a mixed Palestinian-Israeli Australian Football (AFL) team – “Jerusalem Peace Lions”. In 2016 he graduated from the Hebrew University with a degree in Business Administration and Islamic & Middle Eastern studies. He was awarded scholarships for his social-entrepreneurial and educational efforts with underprivileged youth in Jerusalem. After interning at the Centre for Ethics in Jerusalem, Yonatan was recently hired to pioneer the global efforts of Zikaron BaSalon initiative which offers an intimate and engaging way to commemorate the Holocaust. His daily commute to work is done by hitching rides with the purpose of connecting people and promoting mutual trust amongst strangers. He has been described as passionate, resourceful and engaging, yet as a child was often sent to his room.
