Biography: Yara is 23 and studied Law at Hebrew University (LL.B and LL.M) and comes from a Palestinian Israeli family. She is one of the first interns from an Arab background to work at the State Attorney’s Office, Department of the Israeli High Court of Justice (Bagatz). She is also a Fulbright scholar, and devoted to constitutional law as a means of social change. She is an activist and has participated in other programs such as Seeds of Peace, MEPI, and Creating Change Agents. She is outspoken on the issues of Palestinian rights and on women’s rights and has stories of what it means for an Arab working in the Israeli Judicial system. Yara wants to make a career in the law at the highest level and is continuing her law studies at Columbia Law School in NY.
