Biography: Shorouk Badir is 19, grew up in Bethlehem, Palestine, and currently lives in the United States while attending Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania on a Hope Fund Scholarship given to the most outstanding scholars from Palestine. In her senior year of high school, she challenged social and physical boundaries forced upon her when she attended the American International School in Israel and was the only Palestinian in a school for Israelis. At school, she was a leader in the Model United Nations Program and a member of the Conflict-Resolution Committee. She comes to the NSL program with a Project for Change for her local Bethlehem High School, to provide teachers and students with the latest computer technology and internet teaching facilities so that this one school can join in a global conversation with other young people. She wants to challenge the impact of the occupation using technology to help end the isolation of young people in Palestine
