Nisreen is a 21 year-old Palestinian refugee who grew up in Gaza.  She is a part of the Hope Fund scholarship at Illinois College, where she is in her third year and majoring in Political Science, Gender and Women’s Studies, and Economics. Nisreen is the president of Amnesty International and a participant of Model UN on her campus. Her interest in politics and human rights advocacy dates back to the Gaza war in 2008 when she volunteered at a local human rights organization and saw the constant violations of human rights during the war.

Nisreen’s NSL work placement was in the office of U.S. Representative Jared Polis.
