For all those interested in the 2013 NSL Program, please carefully read the instructions below to guide you through the process. If you have any questions, please email paul@newstoryleadership.org.
Applications are open till April 3rd 2013 ( an extension to the March 29th date on the application form) and to be eligible you must be:
■ A full-time University/College student studying at a University or third level college based in Israel or the Palestinian Territories or a student from these regions but studying in the UK/USA.
■ Alternatively you can be a recent graduate if you have completed your studies in the past three years.
■ In good standing with your University/College and achieving better than passing grades in your chosen field of studies.
■ Aged between 18-28 years as of June 1, 2013
■ Born in the Palestinian Territories or Israel, or call this region your permanent home, even if you weren’t originally born there or even currently studying there.
■ Free to fully commit to an uninterrupted seven weeks in Washington DC beginning Friday June 14th and ending Sunday August 4, 2013?
■ In possession of a valid passport or travel document and can obtain a proper USA visa to travel by the beginning of June 2013?
■ In possession of the financial resources to pay their own visa and travel expenses to get to and from Washington DC and be able to pay for extra living expenses in Washington over and above the weekly stipend provided by the program?
■ If candidates cannot pay the travel costs up front, they must be prepared to work with NSL to find appropriate sponsors, both at home and from the NSL community in the USA.
■ Willing to demonstrate “active leadership through service” by working a minimum of 30 hours on a local public service project between April and June before you come to DC, and participate in key pre and post summer program events.
■ Fit and healthy enough to travel and actively participate in a vigorous and intense program?
