Eligibility

Applications for 2012 are now closed.

However for all those interested in the 2013 Summer Program, please read the instructions below to guide you through the process. If you have any questions, please email paul@newstoryleadership.org

To be initially eligible for the 2013 NSL Program you must be:

■ A Full-time University student studying at a University based in Israel or the Palestinian Territories or a student from these regions but studying in the UK/USA.
■ In good standing with your University and achieving better than passing grades in your chosen field of studies.
■ Aged between 20-27 years as of June 1, 2013
■ Born in the Palestinian Territories or Israel, or call this region your permanent home, even if you weren’t originally born there or even currently studying there.
■ Free to fully commit to an uninterrupted seven weeks in Washington DC between June 17th and August 4, 2013?
■ In possession of a valid passport or travel document and can you work with the program to obtain a proper USA visa to travel by the beginning of June 2013?
■ In possession of the financial resources to pay an up front, one time fee of $650 for the program, and able to pay for extra living expenses in Washington over and above the weekly stipend? (The program covers airfares and other major program expenses in Washington DC but not costs associated with visas)
■ Willing to demonstrate “leadership through service” by working a minimum of 30 hours on a local public service project between April and June before you come to DC?
■ Fit and healthy enough to travel and actively participate in a vigorous and intense program?
