Originally from Hoboken, New Jersey, Darcy Brown was a student at American University enrolled in the Washington Mentorship Program. She had a great interest in international studies, cross-cultural communications and conflict resolution, as well as diversity, understanding different cultures and promoting tolerance and acceptance. She was encouraged to apply to NSL because she believed in the narrative based approach, which she felt empowered young adults from Israel and Palestine as future leaders and offered opportunities for improved cross-cultural understanding and peace in the Middle East.
