Development Committee Member, Bob Van Heuvelen is the principal of Van Heuvelen Strategies, LLC that he established in 2007. Drawing on his career experience both on Capitol Hill and in the executive branch, Bob advises clients on a wide variety of legislative and political issues, including energy and environment, taxation and finance, and health care. He served as Chief of Staff to Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND) from 1997 to 2007.
Before his work in the Senate, he was the Director of Civil Enforcement at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. A native of Bismarck, North Dakota, Bob obtained a Masters Degree in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota; and was awarded his law degree from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Bob serves on the Board of the Washington Ireland Program, and brings to the NSL board all his years of experience in the ways of Washington.
He joins Hugh O’Hara and Dr Robert Anastasi in heading up our development strategy team to find the resources NSL needs to sustain its work.
