An Irishman, Palestinian and American get into a boat……….no this is no joke; this was the beginning of the New Story Leadership management getaway in Delaware. The setting would be the picturesque Colin’s Pond as NSL assembled to discuss and prepare for the start of this year’s summer program. In most cases team bonding is not an easy thing to do and yet from that first kayak ride on a dark Friday night, the team came together in enjoying what is a little piece of heaven just outside the nation’s capital.
And so what did we learn from this? Well our Curriculum Manager, Jean Fleming is akin to a swan on the water, Pastoral Coordinator Cian Moran makes a mean mojito, Director Paul Costello still doesn’t like his picture taken, and our Social Media Manager, Michael Galbraith’s shoes float.
All the fun aside and there was plenty of it, NSL also knows that it is ready for this year’s summer program. Long discussion and debate, in between meals and kayak racing, meant that our management team came away united with the program ready to begin once our students arrive in Washington DC.
NSL would like to take this opportunity to thank Rich and Kathy, as well as Daisy and Penny for their hospitality and kindness in inviting us into their home. Their kind offer of a return visit in our final week was very much appreciated and we look forward to once again returning to this paradise by the pond in the near future.
